Travel restrictions are starting to ease. Covid-19 cases climb, fall and climb again. Vaccinations are rolling out. Masks are a normal part of life.

Yet, the question remains whether travel is right for you. Now. Later. Let's see.

Where would you go?

Just like before the pandemic, hiking outdoors remains a big part of my life. Both travel books include two chapters that cover my favourite routes along with tips for travellers. One chapter focuses on day hikes while the other delves into more immersive multi-day treks.

When you are ready to start exploring other countries and want to stay outdoors, think about places like Bhutan. By July 2021, 90% of adults were vaccinated. Iceland has many crowded tourist highlights, but they also offer trails few people follow if you venture beyond the southern 'must-see' sites.
