Gain an insight into what another reader thought of Dust in My Pack.
Jennie Rosenblum has read a lot of books, so scroll through her many reviews for more books that might grab your interest.
I really liked how each trip was set up:  First, The Basics including a Synopsis, Most Useful Items, and Further Travel Information.  Second, this was followed by the author’s Experience, which in most cases were amazing and read like a short story.

“The first mishap became apparent when we headed to the upper deck for breakfast after a restful sleep during our first night aboard. Passengers who had expected to get off at the next stop remained on board lounging in small groups. One British university student readily explained, “Oh, have you not heard? We have turned around and are heading back to Likoma Island; they forgot the captain! ...”

The Maya of Copán: Beyond their Echoes

8/12/2018

0 Comments

Excerpt taken from Dust in My Pack by Nancy O'Hare

“Personalities seemed exposed here. In fact, one of my favourite carvings was of a cranky old man. He rested nearby, beside Temple Eleven. His chiselled face emerged from a stone block about a metre square in size—with details including a bandana tied around his head, wrinkles, a furrowed brow and a couple of missing teeth. This effigy was aptly named El Anciano (“The Old Man”).”
Unravel stories of the ancient Maya in the Honduran site of Copán.
What to expect:
  • Local guides decipher tales shrouded in mystic;
  • 3,450 structures have been discovered across twenty-seven square kilometres;
  • Stelae statues dot the landscape; and
  • Steps covered in hieroglyphics retell legends from the dynasties of sixteen kings.
