Sometime in the middle of the night, my husband and I both awoke suddenly. We looked around, not sure what had startled us. We then heard a low snort a few metres away. This was followed by the sound of grass being pulled. Then a faint chewing sound grated over and over. Another sniff, but nearer. Whatever had come for an evening snack was approaching our tent.”
